Foamix Receives Patents for OilGel™ In the U.S. and in Australia

Ness Ziona, Israel, Tuesday, February 7, 06 --- Foamix Ltd. announced today the issuance of two separate patents for its OilGel™ technology. Patent No. 6,994,863 was issued to Foamix for OilGel™ on February 7, 2006 by The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The patent, titled "Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Carrier or Composition for Topical Application" covers the Company's methods of treatment of various disorders, using the OilGel™ technology. The second patent, number 782515 was concurrently issued to Foamix for its OilGel™ by the Australian Patent Office. The patent, titled “Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Carrier or Composition for Topical Application” covers composition and the use of OilGel™ as a treatment for dermatological and ophthalmic diseases. The term of the Australian patent is through January 10, 2021.

OilGel™ is a delivery system of medicated actives for the treatment of skin and eye diseases. It transforms a semi-solid into a liquid instantly after application and as such does NOT create a sticky feeling or blurred vision.

“We are excited to have received the latest in a series of U.S. patents for this technology. We are equally thrilled to have opened the door in Australia. This is indicative of Foamix’s ongoing effort to develop its technology for use worldwide,” said Foamix CEO Dr. Dov Tamarkin.

In line with the receipt of the U.S. and Australian patents, Foamix is dedicating additional resources to developing its OilGel™ platform and to accelerating the development and launch of  OilGel™ products.
